More than 25 representatives of LAGs (Local Action Groups) and LAG initiatives of the Western Balkan countries (North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Serbia), participated in the 2-days online training on the following topics:
1. Animation and Mobilization of rural stakeholders regarding LEADER approach
2. Administration and Management of LAGs
BRDN continuously works to support the capacity building process related to LEADER approach, as vehicle for social inclusion and decentralization of public interventions based on a bottom up approach to local rural economic development.
BRDN uses the expertise from the the Croatian Rural Development Network which coming from an EU member country, has a long-term practical experience in implementation of the EU LEADER approach. Therefore, this 2-days training, conducted by managers of LAGs from Croatia, was a great opportunity for the LAGs’ representatives of the Western Balkan, not only to gain knowledge and information through practical exercises and group work, but also to raise discussions and exchange experiences related to the implementation of LEADER.
The training was supported by the Swedish development organization We Effect, through the project for strengthening of the capacities of the Balkan Rural Development Network.
